BAY
(Laurus nobilis)

This herb, also known as Laurel, is an evergreen tree. The flowers are small and yellow and the leaves are oval and dark green. Bay also gets dark purple, or black berries. It can grow up to 50 feet tall, but it seldom grows taller then 20 feet.
Plant bay in rich, well-drained soil in a sunny location. Bay does better if you grow them indoors, since they do not survive cold winters.
Harvest the leaves as needed.

You can use its leaves for soups, stews, seafood and meat dishes. Remove the leaves from your food before serving.

This herbs was once used to stimulate menstruation and abort so if you are pregnant you should stay away from medical doses.
